Material examined. Stn 178, basally truncated stem 120 mm high (NIWA 117349). Remarks. This material has recently been studied, and its taxonomic status discussed, by González Molinero & Peña Cantero (2015).

Ecology and distribution. Material collected at a depth of 343–348 m, off Cape Adare.
