Ctenus tumidulus ( Simon 1887)

The type material of this species could not be found in MNHN (Rollard, in litt), although other types of the same paper ( Simon 1887) were deposited and are present (e.g., Sparassidae ). The original description of a juvenile by Simon (1887: sub Leptoctenus ) and its subsequent redescription by F.O. Pickard-Cambridge (1897; not description of adult male contra Roewer 1955: 646; followed by Platnick 2012) do not allow any statements on the systematic position of the species. Only adult material from the type locality (Tavoy=Dawei, Burma) can precisely clear the status of this species.
