Description. Measurements (n=4, in mm): maximum width of head including eyes: 0.47–0.52; length of head (from base of labrum to neck constriction): 0.26–0.30; length of antennae (holotype): 0.57; length of eyes: 0.12; length of pronotum: 0.37–0.39; maximum width of pronotum: 0.67–0.70; sutural length of elytra (length of elytra from apex of scutellum to posterior margin of sutural angle): 0.78–0.87; maximum width of elytra: 0.87–0.88; length of metatibia (holotype): 0.35; length of metatarsus (holotype): 0.15; width of abdominal segment IV: 0.71−0.75; length of aedeagus: 0.47−0.49; total length of body (from base of labrum to apex of abdomen): 1.73–2.00 (holotype: 1.85). Body and basal antennomere reddish-brown, sometimes with brown middle portions of head and neck; mouthparts, antennomeres 2−5, legs and sometimes abdomen yellow; antennomeres 7−11 brown. Shield-like middle por- tion of head with moderately deep punctation, markedly sparser on apical and basal portions; neck without visible punctures, with very indistinct transverse meshes; pronotum with sparse punctation, deeper and larger than that on middle of head, smaller on apical third, sometimes lacking along midline and very sparse on lateral portions, lacking along basal margin; scutellum without punctures; punctation of elytra as that on pronotum, usually smaller and coarser near scutellum and on basal third of each elytron along suture, markedly sparser on lateral portions; abdominal tergites with very small regular punctures.

Head 1.7−1.8 times as broad as long, with smooth shield-like elevated middle portion. Ocelli convex and mod- erately large; distance between ocelli about twice as long as distance between ocellus and posterior margin of eye. Antenna with oval antennomere 2 distinctly shorter than basal antennomere, antennomere 3 distinctly slenderer than preceding antennomere, antennomere 4 as broad as wide, antennomeres 5−6 small, slightly longer than wide, antennomeres 7−10 transverse, apical antennomere about as long as two preceding antennomeres combined; anten- nomeres with lengths × widths (holotype): 1: 0.11 × 0.05; 2: 0.07 × 0.04; 3: 0.06 × 0.02; 4: 0.02 × 0.02; 5−6: 0.03 × 0.04; 7: 0.03 × 0.05; 8: 0.03 × 0.06; 9−10: 0.05 × 0.06; 11: 0.09 × 0.06.

Pronotum 1.7−1.8 times as broad as long, 1.3−1.4 times as broad as head, widest slightly below or about middle part, gradually narrowed anteriad and distinctly posteriad towards obtuse posterior angles; middle part of anterior margin slightly rounded.

Elytra about as broad as long, twice as long and 1.2 times as broad as pronotum; hind margins of elytra rounded, truncate towards suture; mediobasal portions of each elytron along suture and below scutellum slightly depressed, surface between punctures there usually slightly longitudinally elevated.

Male. Protarsomeres 1−4 slightly dilated, each bearing a pair of modified, long clavate adhesive setae and additional adhesive setae with dilated apical portions. Apical margin of hind trochanter with very long projection, slightly erected ventrad ( Fig. 7 View FIGURES 7–13 ). Apical margin of abdominal tergite VIII ( Fig. 8 View FIGURES 7–13 ) slightly emarginated. Apical margin of abdominal sternite VIII ( Fig. 9 View FIGURES 7–13 ) slightly protruded apicad, with narrowly rounded apex. Male genital segment as in Fig. 10 View FIGURES 7–13 . Aedeagus ( Fig. 14 View FIGURES 14–16 ) oval, with fused parameres, apex of which does not reach notched apex of median lobe; lateroapical portions of parameres with two pairs of short setae; internal sac wide and complicated, with two fields of apical thorns and two semioval fields of basal thorns, with additional pair of strongly sclerotized very long spines in basal portion ( Fig. 15 View FIGURES 14–16 ). Female. Protarsomeres 1−4 narrow, without modified setae.Apical margin of hind trochanter without modifica- tion. Apical margin of abdominal tergite VIII ( Fig. 11 View FIGURES 7–13 ) slightly emarginated. Apical margin of abdominal sternite VIII ( Fig. 12 View FIGURES 7–13 ) subacute. Female accessory sclerite and genital segment as in Fig. 13 View FIGURES 7–13 .

Distribution. The new species is at present known only from the type locality in Tam Dao National Park, North Vietnam ( Fig. 2 View FIGURES 1–2 ).

Bionomics. Specimens were taken by sifting forest floor litter at elevation 1128 m a.s.l.

Etymology. Eponymic – the new species is named in honor of the daughter of the first author,Alesya (Alesen`ka) Shavrina (07.12.2017 – 09.03.2019), who prematurely passed away in such young age.
