Sciaky & Wrase 1997 ” [red label]; paratypes: 3 males and 3 females ( CRS), the same data as holotype ; 1 female ( CRS), “C China; SW-Shaanxi, Qinling mts. 2600 m, Houzhenzi, 7.7.1996, lgt. Non-type material. 2 males ( IZAS), “ Shaanxi, Qinling, Taibaishan, 2008.V.22, Huang Hao lgt.” ; 3 males and 1 female ( HBUM), “ Shaanxi, Qinling, Taibaishan, 2002.VII.17, Ren Guodong lgt.” ; 1 female ( CJQY), “ China, Shaanxi, Taibaishan, alt= 3200 m, 2021.VIII. Quan-Yu Ji lgt.” .
Diagnostic characters. Body length 9.7‒12.0 mm; dorsal surface metallic copper-green. Pronotum transversal cordiform, PW / PL 1.29–1.35, anterior margin subequal in length to posterior margin; with dense punctures in basal fovea, as well as in area between basal fovea; mid-anterior area with a few very fine punctures; lateral margins markedly sinuate before posterior angles, which are nearly rectangular or obtuse, with a distinctly prominent denticle. Elytra relatively short, EL/EW = 1.43–1.47; elytral striae with superficial but distinct punctures. Median lobe of aedeagus relatively slender; in lateral view, basal portion moderately expanded, apex gradually narrowed and bent downwards, the apical lamella thin; in dorsal view, the apical lamella slightly longer than maximum width, gradually bent rightward, left margin weakly sinuate, apex rounded, weakly widened; endophallic piece present on ventral surface of apical orifice, narrow and just weakly chitinized.
Remarks. According to our examined specimens, this species cohabitates with S. vignai violaceus at high altitude in Qinling mountains. Whereas, S. puetzi lives at much lower altitude.
Distribution. Only known from high altitude in Qinling Mountains, Shaanxi Province.
