Type locality: " China (Hongkong)" .

Distribution: Bhutan ( Frey, 1975a), China ( Hong Kong) ( Boheman, 1858), India (Barlow, 1899), Indonesia (Sumatra) ( Nonfried, 1894b), Japan, ( Waterhouse 1875).

Remark: This species was originally described from Hong Kong. Surprisingly, Nonfried (1894b) reported it also from Sumatra, Barlow (1899) from Sikkim and Frey (1975a) from Bhutan. These records might be based on misidentifications. Similarly, the record of A. splendida from Japan ( Waterhouse, 1875) is doubtful, and probably refers to A. amida (see Sawada, 1940).
