Distribution and ecology: —Southern Thailand and southern Myanmar. On slopes of secondary growth or forest and scattered along streams in evergreen forest.

Conservation status: — Schizostachyum kerrianum has a relatively small EOO of less than 20,000 km 2 (7,799.6 km 2) which places it in the Vulnerable (VU) conservation category while its small AOO of less than 500 km 2 (56.0 km 2) puts it to the Endangered (EN) category. This bamboo species was collected from a single location; however, other populations were discovered in less than 5 locations in Ranong province. According to IUCN (2023), we consider that the conservation status of S. kerrianum should be in the Endangered [EN B2a] category.
Vernacular name: —ไผ่ ราชวัง (Phai Ratchawang), ไผ่ลาดวัง (Phai Ladwang).
