Diastylopsis thilenuisi . — Zimmer,1908: 183, 190.— Stebbing, 1913: 113 –114.— Zimmer, 1913: 479; 1941: 55, fig. 89; 1943: 136–139, Figs. 4-8 View FIGURE 4 View FIGURE 5 View FIGURE 6 View FIGURE 7 View FIGURE 8 .— Jones, 1963: 61 –64, Figs. 14 View FIGURE 14 , 61–64.— Gerken, 2014: 19 –20.

Material examined. None.

Diagnosis. Female and subadult male. Carapace with incomplete ridges only on anterior half, anterolateral corner acutely produced. Eyelobe without lenses. Pereonites 3–4 not fused, pereonite 4 very narrow dorsally. Pereopods 3–4 with rudimentary exopods in female. Telson extending about to end of uropod peduncle, with 6 pairs lateral setae, 2 terminal setae.

Adult male. Carapace ridges less pronounced than in female. Telson slightly shorter than uropod peduncles, with 7–8 pairs lateral setae and 2 terminal setae.

Remarks. In the New Zealand fauna, the carapace of Diastylopsis thilenuisi is unique in not being entirely unornamented, as in D. crassior and D. elongata , but also without two parallel oblique ridges as in D. aspratilis and D. bicarina .
