Distribution and remarks: found in fast-flowing rivers of the islands of Bioko, São Tome, Príncipe and Pagalu in the Gulf of Guinea. This species might also occur in the Lobe and Kribi rivers of Cameroon, but this requires confirmation. Record for Gabon: MRAC P-94086.003994086.0044 must be verified.
