Distribution and remarks: East Atlantic: known from Portugal and Morocco to Angola, including the Mediterrane- an, Madeira and the Canary Islands; then from Saldanha Bay to Natal ( South Africa) and southern Mozambique. Juveniles and adults were observed along the coast of Gabon and caught by industrial trawlers and artisanal boats (Chartrain and De Bruyne, pers. obs.).
