Distribution and remarks: according to Catalog of Fishes ( Fricke et al., 2020a), “Southeastern Atlantic, southwestern Indian ocean: Gabon; South Africa (Algoa Bay to East London), Madagascar, Mauritius (Mascarenes)” ( Fricke et al., 2020a) but seems to be endemic to South Africa.
