Tetramorium bicarinatum View in CoL originated from Indo-Pacific (South East Asia) and is recognized as one of the world’s most broadly distributed ant species. It has spread across the tropical and subtropical regions in both New and Old World but it is scantily recorded in Africa. T. bicarinatum View in CoL has been known to have an invasive profile ( FOURNIER et al., 2019) and is a very common species in disturbed urban and agricultural environments ( WETTERER, 2009a) and has been pointed as an agricultural minor pest ( HEINZE et al., 2006, LESTER et al., 2003) but sometimes it can be a serious agricultural pest ( WETTERER, 2015). It has been recorded from Guinea and Cape Verde in West Africa.
