Malawidopsis spec. P gen. et sp. nov.

Abbreviated description: Cp elongated, with almost straight and sloping dorsal margin, anterior margin rounded and ventrally produced, posterior margin nearly straight, ventral margin strongly sinuous. RV strongly overlapping LV, especially along anterior margin, gaping in the latter part. In dorsal view, lateral sides rounded with greatest width situated at the middle, both anterior and posterior edges pointed. Valve surface strongly reticulate.

Measurements: length of female = 564–566 µm; length of male = 555–572 µm.

Locality: Domira Bay , Malawi at 10 m depth (25/3/1999) .
