Lectotype (Christensen in Strid & Kit Tan, Fl. Hellenica 1: 12. 1997): Herb. Burser XXV: 67 ( UPS) .

Current name: Juniperus oxycedrus L. subsp. oxycedrus View in CoL ( Cupressaceae ).

Note: Imkhanitskaya (in Novosti Sist. Vyssh. Rast. 27: 15. 1990) indicated 1198.9 (LINN) as type but this is a 1757 addition, from Kähler, to the collection and not original material for the name.
