Notes.

Pterandra currently comprises 15 accepted species (11 threatened species; Suppl. material 1) of trees, shrubs or subshrubs endemic to non-flooded forests of the South American Amazon rainforest and Cerrado biomes, with just a single species occurring in non-flooded rainforests of Panama, Central America ( Anderson 1997 a; POWO 2024).
