Diagnosis. Species morphologically very similar to Andrenosoma albibarbe and Andrenosoma cyrtoxys . However, differences between male terminalias let us to confirm them as different species (compare Fig. 3 View FIGURES 1 – 5 b with Figs. 1 View FIGURES 1 – 5 b and 5b).
Description. Medium size species (10 ̶ 15 mm), black with scarcely setosity. Head. Face and facial gibbosity with black and white setae; white beard. Antennae with black setae on first two segments. Thorax. White setae scattered dorsally and long black setae laterally. Wings. First posterior cell closed at margin ( Fig. 3 View FIGURES 1 – 5 a). Legs. With abundant white setae on coxae. Abdomen. Tergites II ̶VII orange-red medially. Male terminalia. Bright black and gonostylus with irregular teeth on the former edge and some small ragged thorns on the later edge ( Fig. 3 View FIGURES 1 – 5 b). Female terminalia. Tubular and with yellow setae.
Biology and ecology. Flight period comprises May to August. They are commonly perched on stumps or pine trunks in sunny areas located between 800m and 1500m above sea level. Their preys include Hymenoptera and Diptera , including their species and the genus Dioctria ( Musso, 1970 and 1971).

Distribution. Paleartic Region: France. This is the first report of the species from Spain.
