The name refers to the locality, Rio Raposo, where this species was first collected.
Male. Length and greatest breadth of postpedicel subequal. Left side of epandrium as Fig. 101 View FIGURES 101–103 ; right side as Fig. 102 View FIGURES 101–103 and gonopods and hypandrium as Fig. 103 View FIGURES 101–103 . Wing 0.9–1.3 mm long. Costal index 0.54–0.60. Vein 3 with a terminal vesicle which extends beyond with tip of costa. Distal third of mid tibia is white.
Material. Holotype male, Costa Rica, Puntarenas, Las Cruces Biological Station , 8.80 o N, 82.97 o W, 1200 m, Malaise trap, 7–17 November 2005, G. Kung & A. Kreuter ( CUMZ, 26-78) GoogleMaps . Paratypes, 13 males as holo- type except one 14–19 September 2005 ( CUMZ, LACM, 26-78-81) . 3 paratype males, Colombia, Rio Raposo , light trap, August, 1963, January and July 1964, V . H. Lee ( USNM) .
