Salvia ×telekiana Simonkai & Thaisz View in CoL in Simonkai (1900: 267) [ Salvia nutans Linnaeus (1753: 27) View in CoL × Salvia transsylvanica (Schur ex Grisebach & Schenk) Schur (1853: 57) View in CoL ].
Lectotype (designated here):— ROMANIA. “In monte “ Gorgana ” ad pagum Drassó, com. Alsó-fehér”, 18 June 1894, Thaisz s.n. (BP144482!).
Other original material examined (syntype):— ROMANIA. “Hungaria austro-orientalis. Mons Gorgana ad Drassó, com. Alsó-fehér, in possessione comitis Teleki Arvéd”, 18 June 1894, Thaisz s.n. (BP144483!).
Notes: —The hybrid Salvia nutans × S. transsylvanica was described in 1900 as a nothospecies S. ×telekiana by Hungarian botanists L. Simonkai and L. Thaisz ( Simonkai 1900), based on several herbarium specimens collected by Thaisz on June, 18 th, 1894 at Mt. Gorgana near Drassó village (DraȘov, currently belongs to the Alba County, Romania). At the herbarium BP we found two specimens (BP144482 and BP144483; see above) which exactly correspond to the information from the protologue. These specimens have to be considered as syntypes according to Art. 9.6 of the ICN and should be used for selection of a lectotype (Arts. 9.3, 9.11, 9.12 of the ICN). Both of these specimens are in agreement with the original description of nothospecies and one of them (BP144482) was used as a model for the plant drawing present in the protologue ( Simonkai 1900). This latter specimen ( Fig. 3 View FIGURE 3 ) is designated here as a lectotype of S. ×telekiana .
