Description. Body-sized medium, dark brown ( Figs. 2A and 2B View FIGURE 2 ), wingless, scattered with yellowish-brown irregular spots. Head shiny with many small scratches. The occiput bearing two yellow stripes, with black dots; the yellow bands on both sides of the head bifurcate from the middle to the back of the eyes and converge at the end of the occiput. Eyes dark brown; ocellus yellowish, medium ocellus relatively flat. The frontal rostrum 2.5 times wider than the antennal scape. The face possessing a triangular yellowish-brown pattern. The lower end of the clypeus gradually narrowing to a semicircular shape, and the middle of the labrum protrusion; the end of maxillary palpus dark brown ( Fig. 3E View FIGURE 3 ).

Pronotum relatively flat, dark brown, one yellow longitudinal band on both sides, which connecting to the yellow transverse band on the head. The lateral pronotum dark brown, with black irregular spots scattered throughout all yellowish-brown. A thin yellow line in the middle of the posterior margin extending backward to the distal end of the second abdominal segment. The mesonotum and metanotum black with irregular yellow spots mixed with black spots, lateral lobes black.

Tympanum absent. The foreleg and middle leg of the male blackish brown, with yellow markings on the back of the foreleg. Five apical spurs, two longer on the inner side, and the shortest in the middle. Seven spines on the outer side and five on the inner side of the hind tarsus. Dorsal spurs numbered three on both sides. The first dorsal spur significantly smaller than the others, and the second dorsal spur longest among the three internal ones.

The first two-thirds of the second abdomen tergum stained yellow and extending to the third abdomen tergum on both sides, with irregular black spots; the fourth and sixth segments pubescent on both sides, also bearing four fuzzy yellow spots; the seventh and eighth segments relatively smooth and the posterior four segments of the abdominal terga relatively dense.

Ectoparamere wide, trapezoidal, flat, and covered with golden fine hairs. The epiphallic lateral lobe short, thick, bulged downwards, and nearly spherical, with an approximate diamond shape on the back view. The end of the epiphallic lateral lobe with toothed protrusion ( Fig. 4A View FIGURE 4 ). Ovipositors well-developed and needle-shaped ( Fig. 2B View FIGURE 2 ).

Remarks. This species has similar head markings to the G. punctatus , but the latter does not have double yellow stripes on the occiput, and the body is smaller, darker, and armed with sparse pubescence; and the cercus of female of G. punctatus are significantly longer than those of the G. bistriatus . Compared with Goniogryllus pubescens Wu & Wang, 1992, this species only has yellow stripes on the first three abdomen terga, while G. bistriatus has four fuzzy yellow spots on each abdomen tergum.
