Epacanthaclisis amydrovittata Wan et Wang View in CoL sp. nov.
( Figure 1 View FIGURE 1. A – E : A–E)
Diagnosis. Venation color alternating between pale and dark; forewing maculation of rhegma and anastomosis of CuA and CuP+1A weak, other maculation indistinct. Pronotum with a pair of dark brown wide medial stripes close each other posteriorly, a pair of dark brown lateral stripes straight and almost equal width to the medial stripes, interrupted at the middle ( Figure 1 View FIGURE 1. A – E : D). Spurs extending to apex of the 2nd tarsomere in fore- and midleg, and extending to apex of the 1st tarsomere in hindleg. Female posterior gonapophysis as long as 1/3 of anterior gonapophysis ( Figure 1 View FIGURE 1. A – E : E). Male unknown.
Description. Female. Forewing 44–45mm, hindwing 43–44mm, abdomen 27–28mm.
Head. Eyes black grayish, with small dark spots. Face yellow with sparse long grayish hairs, dark band around antennae. Yellow brown vertex convex, with short white hairs and a pair of yellowish spot near eyes. Maxillary palpi and clypeus pale yellow with brown hairs; labial palpi yellow, the last segment fusiform, dark brown with black hairs. Antennae clavate, yellow-brown, scape and pedicel yellow with small brown spot and white short setae, flagellum comprising about 36 flagellomeres, alternating between brown and yellow, club dark brown.
Thorax. Pronotum yellow-brown with sparse black and thicken white long setae, two pairs of longitudinal black stripes, the lateral stripes almost equal wide to the medial stripes and straight, interrupted at the middle, lateral margins dark ( Figure 1 View FIGURE 1. A – E : D). Meso- and metanotum dark brown with some indistinct yellowbrown stripes, the hind margin with two small trusses of white setae.
Legs. Foreleg: coxa yellow with large brown spot, covered with long white bristles; femur dark brown; tibia alternating between yellow and dark; tarsus dark except the basic part of the first and the fifth segment pale; spurs and claws red, the apex of spurs slightly bend, extending to apex of the 2nd tarsomere. Midleg similar to foreleg. Hindleg, spurs extending to apex of the 1st tarsomere ( Figure 1 View FIGURE 1. A – E : C).
Forewing. Venation alternating between pale and dark, many base of forks brown; anterior Banksian line distinct, posterior Banksian line indistinct; Rs with about 10–12 branches; presectoral area with 5–6 crossveins and 4–6 irregular cells; the bifurcation of Rs opposite cubital fork; the anastomosis of CuA and CuP+1A and the area of regma without distinct brown stripes. Stigma pale, large with small brown spot at base. Hindwing. Similar to forewing, but the bifurcation of Rs before cubital fork; presectoral area with 2 crossveins and 1–3 irregular cells.
Abdomen. Dark brown, segment I–IV with dense long white hairs, segment V–IX with long black hairs; the genitalia with long black setae, ectoproct oval, short and broad; lateral gonapophysis chock-like with digging setae, anterior gonapophysis long fingerlike, posterior gonapophysis shorter ( Figure 1 View FIGURE 1. A – E : E); spermatheca as Figure 1 View FIGURE 1. A – E : B. Male. Unknown.
Material examined. Holotype,Ƥ, Diebu, Lazikou, Prov. Gansu. 1700m, 12.VIII.1980, Yang Chikun leg (CAU-N100002); Paratype: Ƥ, Nanping, Jiuzai, Prov. Sichuan. 2000m, 16.VII.1987, Chen Gang leg (CAU- N100003).
Distribution. China (Gansu, Sichuan).
Etymology. amydro G. dim; vitta L. stripe; referring to the anastomosis place of CuA and CuP+1A and the area of regma without distinct brown stripes.
Remarks. The species is similar to E. kuldurguch Krivokhatsky, 1998 , there are differences between them: (1) The new species larger than E. kuldurguch which forewing 33–36mm, hindwing 31–34mm, abdomen 22–24mm; (2) the farmost point of wings sharp in the new species, that of E. kuldurguch blunt; (3) Pronotum of the new species with a pair of longitudinal medial black stripes, but E. kuldurguch with four divided black spots.
