Type host: Columba livia domestica Gmelin ( Columbiformes : Columbidae ) from USA (Texas).

Diagnosis. Palp tarsus with 3 setae (2 ventral Bi-type, 1 dorsal Sd-type), palp tibia with 1 seta (Fa-type), tarsal solenidion present. Hypostomal setae m Fa-type. Propodonotal shield absent but small network of lines on cuticle between sensillary bases present. Sensillae si SC-type, other idiosomal setae Ea-type, except ve Eb-type.

Hosts and distribution. Columbiformes (Columbidae) : COlumba livia dOmestica Gmelin and StreptOpelia semitOrquata Rueppel, both from Rwanda [Southern Prov., Butare] ( Fain 1956a).

Non-African hosts and distribution. Columbidae : COlumba livia dOmestica from USA ( Crossley 1952), COlumbina talpacOti (Temminck) from Trinidad and Tobago (Fain & Aitken 1986) and Mexico (Fain & Hyland 1970), GeOtrygOn mOntana (Linnaeus) and LeptOtila verreauxi Bonaparte both from Brazil ( Amaral 1963; Fain & Aitken 1970).
