Isometopidea Poppius, 1913 View in CoL
Isometopidea Poppius, 1913: 251–253 View in CoL (as new genus); Schuh 1995: 7–8 (catalogue); Kerzhner & Josifov 1999: 2 (catalogue), 2002–2013 (online catalogue).
Type species: Isometopidea lieweni Poppius, 1913 View in CoL from Ceylon, by original designation; monobasic.
Diagnosis. Elongate, shiny; head vertical, longer than broad. Space between the eyes narrow, with a deep furrow. Labium extending to the hind coxae. Pronotum with a collar-like anterior margin separating callosities by a deep transverse line. Pronotal disk strongly punctate, wider than long, narrowed toward the front, posterior margin curved at the middle, lateral margins flattened. Calli prominent, separated by a median sulcus. Hemelytra heavily punctate, with elongate hair-like setae; clavus suture extending beyond apex of scutellum, forming a claval commissure; membrane with two cells, larger inner cell rounded at corners.
Distribution. India, Sri Lanka, and Taiwan.
Note. Isometopidea yangi Lin (2005) , described from Taiwan, recently was transferred to Kohnometopus Yasunaga and placed in Gigantometopini by Yasunaga et al. (2017) and, thus, removed from the list of Oriental species of Isometopidea . See our note under Gigantometopini giving reasons for maintaining Isometopidea in Myiommini .
One species is here described from India and one was previously known from Sri Lanka.
