Type locality. Turkey, Hatay, Yayladağı-Hisarcık. Holotype: male ( NHMUK).

Material examined. TURKEY: Hatay, Yayladağı-Hisarcık , 15.7.1952, 1♂ (Holotype), 1♀ (Paratype) (leg. Ö. K. Gülen) ; Hatay, Antakya , 800 ft, 14.6.1960, 10♂, 10♀ ( Karabağ 1963); nr . Çorum [must be wrong], 3000 ft, 1.8.1960, 1♂ ( NHMUK) ; Hatay, Harbiye , 12.5.1967, 1♂ (AİBÜEM); Anatolien, [ Hatay], Antakya, 25.5.1965, 3♂ (leg. Ressel) ( NMW) ; Hatay, Yayladağı-Hisarcık , 15.7.1952, 1♀ (Paratype) (leg. Ö. K. Gülen); [ Turkey: Hatay], N.W . Syria, Mt. Cassius [Kılıç Dağı], 12.5.1945, 1♀ (leg. K. P. Whitehorn) (det. as Prionosthenus galericulatus ) ( AÜZM) .

Remarks. One female from Mt. Cassius given by Dirsh (1950) as P. galericulatus is reidentified. One female from Çorum Province of Turkey must be mislabelled, it is not possible to be from Çorum, N. Turkey. This single male has not a small difference from the specimens collected in Hatay Province by Ö. K. Gülen and is probably a member of this population.

Dirsh (1950: 65) recorded P. galericulatus ( Stål, 1876) after one female from Mt. Cassius (Kılıç Dağı), now in Turkey. This female (AÜZM) actually belongs to this species.

The correct spelling of the species name must be “ gueleni ” according to the ICZN (Article 32.5.2).
