Genus: Neoparanothrotes Mirzayans, 1991 View in CoL
Mirzayans 1991: 16. Type species: Neoparanothrotes borumandi Mirzayans, 1991 .
Neoparanothrotes Mirzayans, 1991 View in CoL : Otte 1994: 172; Mirzayans 1998: 20; Hodjat 2012: 264, 266.
Remarks. This genus was established by Mirzayans (1991) for his new species N. borumandi Mirzayans, 1991 . He distinguished it from Paranothrotes by the weak median carina of pronotum with its indistinct longitudinal sulcus, the narrower vertex, the presence of two dark spots on abdominal tergites and sternites, the wider pronotum, the antennae with 14 segments and the larger size. Mirzayans (1991) described the epiphallus, but not the phallus. This distinct genus is easily recognizable also by the unique shape of phallus in the tribe Nocarodeini ( Figs. 64 View FIGURES 55 – 68 , a, b, c, d). Some additional characters are used in the key to genera of Nocarodeini above. Paranothrotes diamesus Bey- Bienko is included in this genus as a second member of the genus. Although the male of P. diamesus is still unknown, the female characters much more agree with this genus rather than Paranothrotes .
