All corrections are in “Synopsis of the fauna,” pp. 1022–1023:
p. 1022: Before Atrichomelina Cresson insert:
“ Anticheta Haliday. Anticheta is unique in that every known species feeds, at least as first-instar larvae, on snail egg masses. A characteristic of Anticheta is the presence of two dorsal preapical setae on the hind tibia.
One species, A. testacea Melander , ranges from Canada south to Mexico (Baja California), while another species, A. patzcuaroensis , occurs in Michoacán, Mexico.”
p. 1022: In Pherbellia Robineau-Desvoidy replace
“In Central America only P. trabeculata (Loew) ( Guatemala) is known” with
“Three species of Pherbellia are known from Central America: P. guttata (Coquillett) ( Mexico: Chiapas), P. nana nana (Fallén) ( Mexico: Baja California, Ciudad de México, Tamaulipas), and P. trabeculata (Loew) ( Guatemala, Mexico).”
p. 1023: Before Sepedomerus Steyskal , insert:
“ Sepedon Latreille. Four species of Sepedon are known from Central America, all from Mexico: S. armipes Loew (Nuevo León, Sonora, Tamaulipas), S. pacifica (Cresson) (Baja California), S. praemiosa (Giglio-Tos) (central highlands to Oaxaca), and S. relicta (Wulp) (Ciudad de México, Hidalgo, Michoacán).”
p. 1023: In Sepedomerus Steyskal , replace the first two sentences with the following:
“ Sepedomerus is represented in the Neotropical Region by three species: S. bipuncticeps (Malloch) ( Panama south to Argentina), S. caeruleus ( Dominica, Haiti, Puerto Rico), and S. macropus (Walker) (extreme s. United States (Texas) south to Peru).”
p. 1023: In Sepedonea Steyskal replace the second sentence with the following:
“Three species of Sepedonea are known from the Neotropical Region: S. isthmi (Steyskal) ( Panama south to Brazil and Bolivia; also Trinidad), S. guatemalana (Steyskal) ( Mexico south to Nicaragua), and S. lagoa (Steyskal) ( Costa Rica south to Brazil, Peru, Paraguay).”
