Original description. Schmidt 1926, P. 223.
Description. Shell narrowly ovoid; lateral sides gradually converging towards an aperture; shell circular in transverse section, with rare small xenosomes; colorless, brownish in old specimens, transparent; the aperture is circular.
Measurements. Shell length 24–27 µm, shell width 13–17 µm, aperture diameter 5–6 µm.
Habitat. Oligotrophic lakes, Sphagnum .
Geographic distribution. Germany, Russia, Belgium, Romania.
