Note. We here follow ROHÁČEK et al. (2001) in using ROHÁČEK’ S (1983) division of the genus into subgenera rather than MARSHALL & SMITH’ s (1992) division of the genus into monophyletic species groups, despite our differences of opinion about the utility and stability of formal subgenera in the Sphaeroceridae . The recent addition of a further subgenus, Rufolimosina Papp, 2008 probably renders the subgenus Kimosina paraphyletic.
