TYPE LOCALITY: "South Seas."

DISTRIBUTION: Tropical and subtropical waters of the world and warm temperate N. Pacific; possibly north to Alaska.

COMMENT: Includes scammonii and sieboldii; see Van Bree, 1971; Beaufortia, 19(244):21-25.

PROTECTED STATUS: CITES - Appendix II as Order Cetacea .

ISIS NUMBER: 5301411002002001001 as G. macrorhyncha (sic).
