Neotype (Rohwer in Mitt. Bot. Staatssamml. München 18: 237. 1982): British Guiana. Rupununi District, south of Lethem, Takutu River, H. S. Irwin 797 (US).

Current name: Seguieria americana L. View in CoL ( Phytolaccaceae ).

Note: In the absence of original material, Nowicke (in Ann. Missouri Bot. Gard. 55: 331. 1968) designated a neotype, but her choice was subsequently rejected by Rohwer on the grounds of its conflict with the protologue, and another neotype designated in its place.
