5. Ixodes albignaci Uilenberg and Hoogstraal, 1969a .

An Afrotropical species, all of whose parasitic stages are usually found on Afrosoricida : Tenrecidae ; adults alone have been collected from Rodentia : Muridae . There are no records of Ixodes albignaci causing human parasitism.
