An Australasian species, all of whose parasitic stages are usually found on Sphenisciformes : Spheniscidae , while adults alone have been collected from Suliformes : Phalacrocoracidae , and Procellariiformes : Procellariidae . Ixodes kohlsi is a very rare parasite of humans.
