Note: Kirschenblatt´s (1936) redescription of a male of Ixodes laguri differs sharply from other descriptions and is therefore not included in the above lists. The redescription of Ixodes laguri in Emchuk (1960) is also excluded because it is not recognized in Filippova (1977), who analyzed the morphology of several populations of Ixodes laguri and redescribed four subspecies of this tick, probably implying that Ixodes laguri comprises more than one taxon. Should this prove to be the case, any compilation of the original descriptions and redescriptions of taxa within this complex will significantly change. Estrada-Peña et al. (2017) found no reliable characters for separating nymphs and larvae of Ixodes laguri from the same stages of morphologically similar species occurring in Europe and North Africa.
