L: Theiler (1945a), under the name Aponomma exornatum
Note: Theiler (1945a) states that the nymph of Amblyomma exornatum described by her is smaller than the nymph described by Howard (1908). There are erroneous redescriptions of Amblyomma exornatum (under Aponomma ), as in Neumann (1899) , who considered a number of valid species to be synonyms of Amblyomma exornatum , and such redescriptions are not included in the above lists. See also Amblyomma arcanum for its alleged synonymy with Amblyomma exornatum .
