An Australasian and Oriental species whose females have been found on Crocodilia: Alligatoridae (captive) and Crocodylidae , Squamata : Colubridae , Elapidae and Pythonidae , and Artiodactyla : Bovidae and Suidae ; larvae and nymphs have been collected from Rodentia . Muridae ( Guglielmone & Robbins 2018, Kwak et al. 2019). Amblyomma cordiferum is a very rare parasite of humans.
