An Oriental species, all of whose parasitic stages have been found on
Scandentia : Tupaiidae ; adults and immature stages have been found on Rodentia : Muridae , and Passeriformes : Pittidae ; adults alone have been collected from Carnivora : Mephitidae , Mustelidae and Viverridae , and Passeriformes : Muscicapidae ; nymphs alone have been recovered from Soricomorpha : Soricidae , and Rodentia : Sciuridae . Ixodes spinicoxalis is a very rare parasite of humans.
