A Neotropical species whose adults are usually found on Artiodactyla : Tayassuidae ; the undescribed nymph has also been collected from these hosts and from Carnivora : Procyonidae ( Bermúdez et al. 2015, Guglielmone & Robbins 2018). Amblyomma pecarium is a rare parasite of humans.
