A Neotropical species whose adults have been found on Pilosa : Myrmecophagidae , and Carnivora : Canidae . There are no records of Amblyomma pictum causing human parasitism. M: Neumann (1906) ; see note below

Note: Neumann (1906) and Aragão (1912a, 1913, as Amblyomma conspicuum ) describe the male as having a pseudoscutum and numerous scutal punctations, but these features are lacking in the male of Amblyomma pictum redescribed in Voltzit (2007). There are no illustrations of the female of Amblyomma pictum .
