A Neotropical species, all of whose parasitic stages, including the undescribed larva, have been found on Artiodactyla : Bovidae , and Perissodactyla : Equidae ; adults alone have been collected from Mammalia (several orders). Amblyomma tonelliae is a sporadic parasite of humans.
