A Neotropical species whose adults are usually found on Artiodactyla : Camelidae ; larvae and nymphs are commonly recovered from Squamata : Liolaemidae . Adults alone have been collected from Perissodactyla : Equidae (provisionally valid), Sphenisciformes : Spheniscidae , and Struthioniformes : Rheidae (Muñoz et al. 2016, Nava et al. 2017). There are no records of Amblyomma parvitarsum causing human parasitism.
