M: Dönitz (1909) and Robinson (1926), both under the name Amblyomma furcula, Joan (1920) , Boero (1957), López and Parra (1985), Estrada-Peña et al. (2005), Nava et al. (2017)

F: Robinson (1926), under the name Amblyomma furcula, Joan (1920) , Boero (1957), López and Parra (1985), Estrada-Peña et al. (2005), Nava et al. (2017)

L: Estrada-Peña et al. (2005)

Note: Voltzit (2007) described Amblyomma parvitarsum under the name Amblyomma neumanni ( Nava et al. 2017) , although some characteristic features of Amblyomma parvitarsum , such as orbited eyes, were overlooked. Guglielmone et al. (2003) state that the female of Amblyomma neumanni depicted in Pinto and Lyns de Almedia (1939) corresponds to a species in the Amblyomma cajennense complex, and that the identification key in Jones et al. (1972), repeated in López and Parra (1985), among others, is not useful when attempting to morphologically identify Amblyomma neumanni .
