An Oriental species whose adults and immature stages have been found on Mammalia (several orders) and Cuculiformes : Cuculidae ; adults alone have been collected from Carnivora : Herpestidae , and Lagomorpha : Leporidae ; immature stages alone have been recovered from Primates : Cercopithecidae , Rodentia : Hystricidae and Muridae , Soricomorpha : Soricidae , Bucerotiformes : Bucerotidae , Galliformes : Phasianidae , and Passeriformes : Sylviidae . Haemaphysalis cuspidata is a very rare parasite of humans.
