A Palearctic species, all of whose parasitic stages are usually found on
Lagomorpha : Leporidae but they have also been recovered from Galliformes : Phasianidae . Adults alone have been collected from Artiodactyla : Bovidae , and Carnivora : Canidae , Mustelidae and Ursidae ; immature stages have been taken from Erinaceomorpha : Erinaceidae , Rodentia : Muridae , Passeriformes (several families), Bucerotiformes : Upupidae , Galliformes : Phasianidae , and Squamata : Lacertidae and Scincidae (Guglielmome et al. 2014, Tsapko 2017). Haemaphysalis caucasica is a very rare parasite of humans.
