An Afrotropical species whose adults are usually found on Artiodactyla : Bovidae , but all parasitic stages have been collected from Carnivora : Herpestidae and Viverridae . Adults alone have been removed from Bovidae , while immature stages have been recovered from Lagomorpha : Leporidae , and Rodentia : Muridae . There are no records of Haemaphysalis rugosa causing human parasitism.
