An Oriental and Palearctic species, all of whose parasitic stages are usually found on Mammalia (several orders), and Galliformes : Phasianidae ; adults and nymphs have been collected from Accipitriformes : Accipitridae ; larvae and nymphs have been recovered from Aves (several orders). Haemaphysalis flava is a sporadic parasite of humans.
