An Oriental species, all of whose parasitic stages are usually found on Carnivora : Mustelidae and Viverridae , but they have also been collected from other Mammalia (several orders); adult ticks are common on Artiodactyla : Cervidae . Adults and nymphs have occasionally been recovered from Galliformes : Phasianidae ; and adults alone have sometimes been found on Falconiformes : Falconidae , Passeriformes : Laniidae and Muscicapidae , and Squamata : Varanidae . Haemaphysalis lagrangei is a rare parasite of humans.
