An Afrotropical species whose adults are usually found on Artiodactyla : Bovidae ; larvae and nymphs are usually recovered from Macroscelidea :
Macroscelididae . Adults, nymphs and larvae have been collected from Lagomorpha : Leporidae ; adults and larvae have been taken from Carnivora : Felidae ; adult ticks alone have been found on Artiodactyla : Bovidae , Carnivora : Canidae , and Perissodactyla : Equidae ; larvae and nymphs have been taken from Macroscelidea : Macroscelididae , Rodentia : Muridae , and Passeriformes : Alaudidae ; and nymphs alone have been collected from Rodentia : Pedetidae . Rhipicephalus warburtoni is a very rare parasite of humans.
