Rhipidomys ochrogaster J. A. Allen 1901 View in CoL , Bull. Am. Mus . Nat. Hist., 14: 43.
Type Locality: Perú, Puno Dept., valley of Río Inambari, Inca Mines (= Santo Domingo), 6000 ft (1830 m).
Vernacular Names: Buff-bellied Rhipidomys.
Distribution: Known only from the type locality and vicinity, SE Perú.
Conservation: IUCN – Lower Risk (nt).
Discussion: R. leucodactylus section sensu Tribe (1996). Retained as a species until judged the same as R. l. leucodactylus by Cabrera (1961). J. A. Allen (1901 b), however, pointedly contrasted his new species with Peruvian R. leucodactylus ; Musser and Carleton (1993) and Tribe (1996) retained it as species. Geographic range and closest specific relative uncertain.
