Distribution in India: Maharashtra (Western Ghats, Koyna Nagar, about 200 kms from Pune city).
Note: The strongly twisted nature of the carpogonial branches in this entity indicates it is assignable to Kumanoa rather than Batrachospermum . Recognition of this entity as a valid species requires a full description and designation of a holotype specimen.
