Distribution in India: Manipur (Iril river, Chingaren, Dec. to Feb.).
Notes: Like the previous record, the binomial “ L. catenata ” is currently regarded and accepted as a species of Paralemanea i.e. P. catenata (Kützing) Vis et Sheath ( Kumano 2002; Ott 2009; Eloranta et al. 2011 and Guiry & Guiry 2017). Singh & Gupta (2011) did not provide any critical morphological (vegetative or reproductive) evidence to support their identification of their plants as either to Lemanea or Paralemanea .
