Type Locality: "intérieur du Sénégal ".
Vernacular Names: Pardine Genet.
Synonyms: Genetta amer Gray 1843 ; Genetta dubia Matschie 1902 ; Genetta genettoides Temminck 1853 ; Genetta pantherina Hamilton-Smith 1842 .
Distribution: Burkina Faso, Côte d’Ivoire, Gambia, Ghana, Guinea, Liberia, Mali, Niger, Senegal, Sierra Leone.
Discussion: The status of genettoides is perhaps best listed as incertae sedis. It may be a hybrid population between pardina and maculata ( Gaubert et al., 2003 a) .
