( Figs 4–5, 19)
Issus sidnicus Kirkaldy 1906: 437 View in CoL .
Phaeopteryx sidnicus ( Kirkaldy) View in CoL , Kirkaldy 1907: 104.
Type material examined. 1 female syntype, “Sydney, N.S.W. / Austr. i.1905 ” “coll. Koebele” “ Issus / sidnicus / Kirk. / Ƥ 296. / holotype ” ( BPBM).
Other material examined. Australia, NSW: 2 males, 1 female, Dorrigo ( SAM).
Distribution. New South Wales.
Note. In his original description, Kirkaldy (1906) provides a note that the colour and shape of the male “pygofers” are “similar to the previous” (ie Issus vulturnus ). This indicates that he examined at least one male. The specimen labelled as “ holotype ” has not been validated as such by publication and is here regarded as a syntype. If a male specimen can be found in BPBM matching the original collection details, then it is available to be designated as lectotype.
